Christmas Tree Pop-Tarts

These festive pop-tarts were surprisingly fast and to make and are super yummy. They didn’t even last a whole day before disappearing. These festive pop-tarts are perfect for special holiday breakfasts or just as a holiday treat!

Makes 10-12 pop-tarts depending on how closely you place the cookie cutter with each cutout.

 Fruit preserves
 1 Egg
Glaze Ingredients
 1 cup Powdered sugar
 6 tbsp Butter (room temp)
 ½ tsp Vanilla extract
  cup Fruit preserves
 Christmas sprinkles

Ingredients
 1 Puffed pastry sheet
 Fruit preserves
 1 Egg
Glaze Ingredients
 1 cup Powdered sugar
 6 tbsp Butter (room temp)
 ½ tsp Vanilla extract
  cup Fruit preserves
 Christmas sprinkles
Christmas Tree Pop-Tarts

General Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Unroll puff pastry and lay it out flat on cutting board.
  3. Using Christmas tree cookie cutter, cut out an even number of trees. in 1 puff pastry sheet, we were able to get 20-24 trees.
  4. Lay half out on cutting board.
  5. Spoon 1 tsp of fruit preserves on each tree and spread it around. Try not to overfill them.
  6. Place remaining trees on top and press down gently around the edges with your fingers.
  7. Using a fork, press down along the edges to seal pop-tarts.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk egg with a small bit of water.
  9. Brush tops with egg wash.
  10. Bake in oven for 25 minutes until golden brown.

Glaze:

  1. While pop-tarts are baking, add ingredients for glaze into a small bowl.
  2. Whisk until fully combined then set aside.
  3. After pop-tarts have fully cooled, frost each with glaze and add sprinkles.

Beginner:

3. With physical help, cut out Christmas trees using cookie cutter. Many toddlers at this stage will require assistance to place and push down on cookie cutter.

5. With hand over hand help, spoon fruit preserves on each tree.

9. With hand over hand help, brush with egg wash.

Glaze:

1. Pour in pre-measured ingredients (with help as needed).

2. With hand over hand help, whisk ingredients to combine.

3. With hand over hand help as needed, glaze each pop-tart.

Experienced:

3. With help as needed, cut out Christmas trees using cookie cutter.

5. With help as needed, spoon fruit preserves onto each tree.

8. Help to whisk egg.

9. With help as needed, brush with egg wash.

Glaze:

1. Pour in pre-measured ingredients.

2. Whisk ingredients to combine with help as needed.

3. Glaze each pop-tart with help as needed and add sprinkles.

Pro:

3. Cut out Christmas trees using cookie cutter with verbal cues as needed.

5. Spoon fruit preserves onto each tree with assistance to spread it around as needed.

6. Place remaining trees on top of each with help as needed.

8. Crack egg into small bowl and whisk.

9. Brush egg wash over each tree.

Glaze:

1. Help to measure ingredients and pour into small mixing bowl.

2. Whisk with help as needed to fully combine.

3. Glaze pop-tarts with help as needed and add sprinkles.
